Rush Partners with Amazon One Medical on Care Access

Rush University System for Health has launched a collaboration with Amazon One Medical to connect primary care and specialty services across the Chicago region.
Announced in early January, the partnership links One Medical’s hybrid care model — which combines virtual visits with in-person clinics — with Rush’s specialty care services. Under the arrangement, One Medical patients will have referral access to Rush specialists, and Rush clinicians will staff select One Medical clinics in the Chicago market.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Rush to offer coordinated care across primary and specialty settings to help deliver the highest levels of health, care and value,” said Dr. Helen Xenos, Chicago district medical director for Amazon One Medical.
Rush leaders say the collaboration reflects patient demand for multiple access points to care. Kate Jones, senior vice president and chief strategy officer at Rush, said patients increasingly expect flexibility in how they receive services, including virtual visits and in-person care.
The partnership builds on Rush’s existing digital health efforts, including its Rush Connect platform, which provides same-day virtual access to primary, urgent and specialty care.
