CDC: Spike in suicides, homicides among young people
The suicide rate jumped 56% for Americans aged 10 to 24 between 2007 and 2017, and the homicide rate jumped 18% between 2014 and 2017 for the same population, according to a new report released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The report notes suicides and homicides were the second and third leading cause of death in 2017 among people aged 15 to 24.
