HHS appoints new chair of rural health advisory committee
Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar yesterday named former Kansas Gov. Jeff Colyer chair of the National Advisory Committee on Rural Health and Human Services. Created in 1987, the 21-member committee advises the secretary on access, delivery and financing for health care and human services in rural areas. “The Committee will play an integral role in our ambitious ongoing efforts at HHS to transform rural healthcare, and Governor Colyer will work closely with me, Deputy Secretary Hargan, and the HHS Rural Health Task Force,” Azar said.
