HRSA awards $35M in grants to support rural hospitals, health care
The Health Resources and Services Administration yesterday awarded $35 million in grants to support rural hospitals and health care.
The funding includes $10 million to provide specialized technical assistance to 30 hospitals in the Mississippi Delta region through the Delta Region Community Health Systems Development Program; $8.8 million to increase access to rural tele-emergency services; and $8 million to develop new rural residency programs in family medicine, internal medicine and psychiatry. It also includes $5 million for rural health research; $2 for rural telehealth research; and $1 million to create a rural telementoring training center.
