Congress urged to extend enhanced premium tax credits beyond 2022
The AHA and eight other national hospital organizations today urged Congress to quickly extend the American Rescue Plan Act’s enhanced premium tax credits for health coverage purchased through the Health Insurance Marketplace, which are set to expire this year.
The enhanced premium tax credits “secured affordable plans for those individuals who are currently benefiting from the lower cost Marketplace coverage and will also be of assistance to those leaving Medicaid as the public health emergency expires,” the organizations wrote. “Without action, millions of Americans will no longer be able to afford coverage.”
